The morning after our Big Bang Theory event we will be wrapping up our festival with the darker side of sex and drugs... Join as we learn a little more about addiction, what science says about it and how to overcome it. Meet our speakers
Delphi Medina
Delphi is a Clinical Social Worker and an account representative in the Employee Assistance Department for UT Health Houston in the Texas Medical Center. She specialize in addictions: chemical & behavioral, and focuses on working with sex addicts and their partners.
Jon Flynn
Jon Flynn is a Lecturer in Neuroscience at Rice University. On Saturday, he will give a talk about how the brain deals with addiction – what are the mechanisms that create addiction? What makes something more or less addictive? Are there ways to use this information to help us break free? Come join us and see what neuroscience has to say about our addictions, and how physiology and behavior instersect.
